NICKOLAS DUNCAN
CO-FOUNDER

Nick is the Co-founder of the Windy 25 Memorial Fund.

Nick was assigned to F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment (Big Windy) from 2004 to 2006.  During his time with Big Windy he served as Section and Platoon Leader.  Nick served with Big Windy both in Giebelstadt, Germany and in Afghanistan.  Nick was serving with Big Windy in Afghanistan during the Windy 25 accident that occurred on April 6, 2005. 

Once redeployed from Afghanistan, Nick returned to the United States and continues to serve the nation in the US Army and as a Major. 

Nick’s Army career has progressed from his Aviation career field to serving as a Nuclear and Counter-proliferation Officer.  He is currently working on his doctorate at the Colorado School of Mines and lives in Golden, Colorado with his wife, Stacey, herself a Co-founder, and their two sons.

CRAIG WILHELM
CO-FOUNDER/BOARD PRESIDENT

​Craig is the Co-founder and Board President of the Windy 25 Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization honoring the memory and sacrifice of the crew of Windy 25, who gave their lives in combat in Afghanistan.
 
Craig is a decorated veteran who left the Army in 2006, moving to Bend, Oregon after completing a successful Command assignment for F/159th Aviation Regiment “Big Windy” in Iraq and Afghanistan.
 
Craig is currently President and Owner of Abacus Federal Services, LLC and Abacus Worldwide Consulting, LLC and is the current Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Oregon.
 
Craig has extensive Strategic Planning experience and uses this as an advocate for veterans services and their well-being, for surviving families, and in honoring the legacy of our nation’s fallen heroes.  Craig served as chief US fundraiser and logistics coordinator for The Gumpathon, a cross-country charity race for wounded servicemen and women from the US and the United Kingdom.

STACEY DUNCAN
CO-FOUNDER

Stacey is the Co-founder of the Windy25 Memorial Fund. 

Stacey is a decorated Army Veteran and is currently an Army Reserve Officer. 

While an active duty Officer, Stacey served in various roles in the US, Germany, Afghanistan, and Iraq. From 2004 to 2006, Stacey served with the 12th Aviation Brigade as the Assistant Logistics Officer (S-4) in Giebelstadt, Germany and during their deployment to Afghanistan.  12th Aviation Brigade was the higher headquarters of F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment (Big Windy).

Before leaving active duty, Stacey completed the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course at Ft Lee, VA and deployed to Iraq with the 1st Sustainment Brigade out of Ft Riley, KS.  She is the proud mother of two boys and is married to fellow Windy25 Co-founder, Nick Duncan. 

DAVID RAMSEY
BOARD CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Dave is an 18-year active-duty veteran and a CH-47 D/F Instructor Pilot who served numerous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dave was a member of the Big Windy team from 2005 through 2012.

Prior to attending flight school, Dave worked as a member of a Protective Services Detail that protected our Nation’s highest ranking military members. A former member of Big Windy, Dave recently retired from his last assignment in the Military District of Washington where he was a Government Flight Representative and a Contracting Officer. He was also a pilot of the Army’s newest helicopter, the UH-72 Lakota.

Dave works for NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida as a pilot and Operations Officer.  He is also pursuing an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Dave currently lives with his wife, Julie, in Orlando, Florida where he supports various charities and clubs in the local area. He spends his off time running, biking, and enjoying life.

BROOKE HERGERT
BOARD OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Brooke is the Board Logistics Director for the Windy 25 Memorial Fund.

Brooke is a decorated Army Veteran who served in various positions in the Army, including as a pilot and Executive Officer for F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment (Big Windy).

Brooke left active duty after completing a tour as Company Commander for an Aviation AIT unit at Ft. Eustis, Virginia. During her time on active duty she completed the Engineer Captains Career Course and also earned a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering.
Following her Army career, she worked as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager for Navy Facilities Engineering Command in Norfolk, Virginia and San Diego, California.

She is a first-year medical student at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas - Austin.  Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband, Clay, and two sons, Owen and Jack.

SHANE HUBBARD
BOARD LOGISTICS DIRECTOR

Shane completed multiple tours of combat duty while stationed in Germany with F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment "Big Windy".  He worked as a crew chief and flight engineer on CH-47 Chinooks. 

​After completing his Army service, Shane and his wife Tippy, relocated to the Henderson, Nevada.  They are avid travelers both to international and national locations.

​Shane continues to work with Chinook Helicopters as a civilian for Columbia Helicopters.
